Lucille, also lovingly referred to as Aunt Lucy, was born and resided most of her life on Quarry Street in New Holland mill village in Hall County, Georgia. She had also recently resided at Dogwood Personal Care Home in Dahlonega and New Horizons Lanier Park in Gainesville. In her younger years, Lucille was an accomplished musician, singer, songwriter and poet and had served as pianist for several churches in the area including Free Chapel Worship Center, many years ago. She was also an excellent seamstress and avid gardener. She had worked in the New Holland Mill (Pacolet Manufacturing) for many years, until she retired to care for her aging mother. Lucille was blessed with a long life of faith in God, a servant’s heart and hands that worked tirelessly caring for others. She will be missed, but will continue to live on in the hearts of her many loved ones.
The family wishes to especially thank the tender and compassionate caregivers of Dogwood Personal Care Home and New Horizon’s Lanier Park, who helped bring joy and contentment to Lucille in her last years. Hospice Care of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, also tenderly cared for and supported Lucille, as well as the family these last few days. There are too many names to list, but each one has held a special place in Lucille’s heart, and every kindness has been noted and appreciated. Any memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
