Funeral services will be held for Larry Roberts 74 of Gillsville at 2:00pm Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Gillsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Shannon Rhodes to officiate with Interment to follow in the Gillsville Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Roberts Died Sunday May 8, 2016 at Emory Hospice Atlanta. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday May 9, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents Pratt Roberts & Runnelle Jones Savage, and a Brother Melvin Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was employed at City Plumbing & Electric Supply Co. for 57 years. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Roberts was Chairman of the Veterans & Community Outreach Foundation. Mr. Roberts was a active member of Gillsville Baptist Church.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife Virginia Roberts of Gillsville, Daughter & son-n-law Carolyn & Blake Barron of Gainesville, Granddaughter & husband Brandi & Dennis Cagle of Elberton, Granddaughter Jamie Jones of Gillsville, Granddaughter Kristen Barron of Tiger, Great Grandsons Landon & Bryson Cagle of Elberton, Sister & Brother-n-law Geneva & Jimmy Waldrep of Gainesville, Sister-n-law Vera Roberts of South Carolina, His Beloved pets dog Muffin & his cat Princess. A Host of other Nieces & Nephews also survive.
