Katherine Smith Parks

Katherine Smith Parks, age 87 of Demorest, passed away Sunday, May 01, 2016, at her residence.

Born in Pierson, Florida on September 26, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Leona Stedweiser Smith.  Mrs. Parks attended Level Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Parks was also preceded in death by her son, John Robert Parks, a son-in-law, Kenneth Orear, and a sister, Roberta Mitchell.

Survivors include her husband, Erskine Parks, of Demorest; daughters and son-in-law, Faye and Mike DeSerio of Demorest, Kathy Orear of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; sisters, Florence Searer of Gainesville, Florida, Elizabeth Lamb of Wellington, Florida; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services are 3:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.  Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Ocala, Florida, at a later date.
