Jean Benfield White, age 91, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 29, 2016.
Mrs. White was born on October 23, 1924 in Hollywood, Georgia to the late Grady and Connice Heaton Benfield. She was a Charter Member and a Founder of The Hillside Baptist Church where she was very active the remainder of her life. Mrs. White and her late husband, Fred were active in the delivery of Meals on Wheels for several years. She was also a homemaker, loved gardening and was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred N. White; and son, John Milton White.
Survivors include her son, Mitchell White, of Cornelia; sisters, Ruth Brannen, of Jonesboro; Francis Cole, of Florida; grandchildren and spouses, Tammy White Coley and Kevin, of Gainesville; Whitney Reyes and Eric, of Minneola, FL; Tiffany Norton and Christopher, of Demorest; Jodie Connally and Tommy, of Houston, TX; Jaime Wilbanks and Joe, of Demorest; grandson, John Nesvadba, of Pasadena, TX; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
