Wynell Chumley, 89, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday April 27, 2016 at Chestnut Ridge Nursing Center following a period of declining health.
Born February 14, 1927 to the late Farris and Annie Mae Ledbetter, she lived most of her life in Dawson County before moving to Forsyth County in 1982. Her hobbies included dancing, cooking and enjoying life. Wynell was a member of Amicalola Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, Toy J. Chumley; and brothers, G. W. Ledbetter and Hubert Ledbetter.
Surviving are her children, Doris and James Hall, Cumming, Phil Chumley, Gainesville; sisters and brother in law, Alene Stephens, Dawsonville, Eulalie and Johnny Philyaw, Dawsonville; brothers and sisters in law, James and Yvonne Ledbetter, Dawsonville, Loye and Delores Ledbetter, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Lisa and Jeff Perkins, Leigh Ann and David Strickland, Leslie and Andrew Glover; great grandchildren, Eve Perkins, Emma Perkins, Jewel Strickland, Samuel Strickland, Caleb Glover, Ellery Glover; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be held Saturday April 30, 2016 at 11 o’clock at Amicalola Baptist Church. Rev. Dave Holbrook will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
