Teresa Presley

Teresa Presley, loving wife, mother, daughter and lifelong resident of Gainesville, Georgia, died unexpectedly on April 22, 2016 at the age of 54.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Ricky Presley; her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Nathan Dawkins; stepdaughter and son-in-law Susan and Brian Fraser; grandchildren Samuel Dawkins, Joshua Fraser, and Alexis Ledford; parents Lamar and Annette Grizzle; sister and brother-in-law Tracy and Christopher Moore; and nephew Conner Moore. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Ryan Presley.

Teresa was born on September 15, 1962 to Lamar and Annette Grizzle. She grew up in Gainesville, attending Johnson High School and later graduating with Dean’s honors from North Georgia College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Soon after, she met and fell in love with Ricky. They were married on April 2, 1988 and shortly thereafter added Ryan and Elizabeth to their family. Family was the most important thing to Teresa, and she spent her life serving and loving others.

Teresa was a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church and loved serving in children’s ministry. She was a gracious host and safe haven, welcoming many people into her home over the years. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and creating art. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, listening ear, and warm, inviting personality.

The Presley family will welcome friends from 11:30a.m. to 1:30p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 20016  at Gainesville First United Methodist Church with the a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00 p.m.,  Dr. Terry Walton will officiated.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Ministry of Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
