William John “Bill Misko

Obituary Date: Wednesday, April 20, 2016

Misko, William John “Bill”, age 66, passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at 9:00pm in Cumming, Georgia of complications to a service related injury. He was born in Homestead, PA on April 2, 1950 to late John Misko and Laura Troutman Kirk. He proudly served his country with the Navy as a Seabee in the Charlie Company BU3 during the Vietnam War and continued to support Vietnam Veterans as a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 970.  After moving to Georgia from West Palm Beach, FL in 1989, Bill devoted his life to his family, obtaining his associates degree and worked as a manager for Kentec Mega Tools. Once retired, Bill dedicated his time to opening Red Oak Lavender Farm in Dahlonega, GA with his wife, Tina. Bill, a master woodworker and carpenter, was recognized by President Jimmy Carter for his craftsmanship on a wooden scaled model of the United States.

Bill is survived by his wife Katrina “Tina” Lynn Owens, Dahlonega of 38 years; daughter Laura “Beth” Pass (Cumming) and son William Misko (Dahlonega) and one granddaughter Crista; sister Joyce L. McEwen (Trenton, FL), sister Shirley A. Avery (West Palm Beach, FL), and brother Charles J. “Chuck” Misko (West Palm Beach, FL).
