Audrey LeMarr Taylor

Obituary Date: Sunday, April 17, 2016
On the afternoon of Sunday April 17, 2016, Audrey Juanita LeMarr Taylor, age 86, passed away quietly of natural causes in her home in Commerce, GA with her children, grandchildren and caregivers by her side.
 
Mrs. Taylor was born on May 07, 1929 in St. Charles, MD. She was the fourth of five children for J.P. and Hassie Medley LeMarr.
 
She married Burrell Taylor on January 10, 1948. The couple moved to Hawaii while he was stationed in the Navy there. In October of that same year, their son Gary was born.
 
In January of 1954, Mrs. Taylor became a mother again to twin girls, Sharon and Karen. She was a supportive and devoted wife, mother, and homemaker first and foremost, and when she and Mr. Taylor later ventured into business, she also worked in their insurance company and clothing store.
 
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce where she served as the Primary Sunday School Secretary for a number of years.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Burrell Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Taylor, her parents, and siblings Roy LeMarr, Mary LeMarr Davis, Hazel LeMarr Fee, and Joy LeMarr Long.
 
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Sammy Highsmith, and Karen and William Westbrooks; a daughter-in-law, Kay Taylor; four grandchildren, Lisa Rylee, Casey Westbrooks (wife Lori), John Rylee, and Laura Westbrooks; and three great-grandchildren, Katelyn and McKenna Westbrooks, and John Michael Rylee; two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
 
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the Compassionate Care Hospice nurses, Donna, Jan and Charlotte, along with Mrs. Taylor’s personal caregivers, Rose, Jessica, Lucretia, and Misty, all of whom took excellent care of Mrs. Taylor over the last several months.
 
The family will receive visitors at Ivie Funeral Home on Tuesday April 19, 2016 from 6-8 pm with funeral services on Wednesday at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Commerce with Dr. Carlton Allen, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the First Baptist Church of Commerce or to Compassionate Care Hospice in Athens, GA.
