Shirley Dean Stephens, 69, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Gold City Nursing Home in Dahlonega, following an extended illness.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel in Gainesville. A private family graveside service will be held later.
Shirley was a homemaker and a caring babysitter for all younger sisters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and more. She was knowledgeable, wise and had breathtaking green eyes. She had a poetic and artistic spirit and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chris Crawford; father, Frank Stephens and step-father, H.T. Daugherty.
She is survived by her daughter, Tuesday Crawford Priester of Cumming; mother Christine Daugherty of Gainesville; sisters, Linda (Harry) Wallis of Gainesville; Dianne (Clay) Bargren of Florida; Julia (Tharpe) Ward of Gainesville; Tammy (Danny) Ivey of Gainesville; and Kim (Chad) Cornell of Dawsonville; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank those that cared for her over the past few years. Her sister Linda, Evergreen Assisted Living, Dahlonega, Gold City Nursing Home, Dahlonega and NEGA Medical Center and Hospice. Thank you for your care and friendships.
