Howard Leverne Rutherford

  Mr. Howard Leverne Rutherford, age 85 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

                Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Michael William will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

                Mr. Rutherford was born on December 17, 1930 in Fulton County, Georgia to the late James Ernest Rutherford and Clyde Brown Rutherford. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was retired from Twin Tanks Grocery and Rutherford Tax Service. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James Rutherford.

                Mr. Rutherford is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elsie Rutherford of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Roy Sims of Kennesaw, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Craig Watson of Gainesville, son, Michael Rutherford of Gainesville, grandchildren, Becky Howard, Courtney Banister, Michelle Carder, Cabrielle Rutherford, Wayne Banister, Stephen Evans, and Ryan Evans, 21 Great-Grandchildren, a host of Great-Great grandchildren, and brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Rutherford of Gainesville.
