Mrs. Florence Adelaide Janney, age 97 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the residence of her grandson and his fiancé, Lisa Aiello following a brief illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Newark Christian Church in Newark, Missouri with interment to follow in Newark Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm, prior to the service, at the church. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date in Gainesville, Georgia at The Smithgall Botanical Gardens.
Mrs. Janney was born July 29, 1918 in Newark, Missouri to the late Victor Rudd and Blanche Paschke Rudd. She was a homemaker, retired school teacher and PEO member. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, D. L. Janney, her son, Larry Janney and her sister, Janice Nettleton.
Mrs. Janney is survived by grandchildren Greg Janney (Lisa Aiello) of Gainesville and Deanna Jill (James Harvey) Vice of Ball Ground, Georgia, great-grandchildren Caleb Janney of Gainesville, Eli Janney of Gainesville, Ashley Janney of Atlanta, Elijah Janney of Winder, Deanna Steedley of Ball Ground, Georgia, James Vice II of Ball Ground, Georgia and Autumn Vice of Ball Ground, Georgia, step-granddaughter Melinda Sedevic of Florida, and nieces Vicki Johnston of Las Vegas, Nevada and Sandra Nettleton of Denver, Colorado.
