Gregory Alan Nance, age 51, of Gainesville, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016, after battling pancreatic cancer.
A Celebration Service of Greg’s life will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Blackshear Place Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Crook will officiate. The family will receive friends 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the church.
He was born to Graham Everett Nance and Lois Hill Nance in Augusta, Georgia. Greg graduated from Aiken High School in 1982 and from The University of South Carolina in 1991 with degrees in both computer and electrical engineering.
Greg worked as an engineer in various manufacturing industries and most recently for Ethicon in Cornelia. He had great interest in new technology and had several patents pending and published.
Greg was an active member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church where he played saxophone in the church orchestra. He enjoyed water sports, home remodeling, and traveling with his family.
He leaves his beloved wife, Valerie Lee Nance and daughter, Olivia. He is also survived by his brother, G. Everett Nance (Amorette); two nephews; one niece; and various aunts and uncles.
