Wayne Lester

Wayne Lester, 64, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

Born on May 9, 1951, Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Joe Preston Lester Sr., sister in law, Carole Anne Lester and nephew, Harry A Drasutis.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Sylvia Campbell Lester; wife, Vicki Cape Lester; son, Brian Lester; daughter and son in law, Joanna Lester Pethel (Kevin); 5 grandchildren, Dalton, Jacob and Grant Pethel, Owen and Olivia Lester; brothers and sisters in law, Preston Lester (Lynn), Steve Lester (Lajuania); sister and brother in law, Anne Lester Cochran (Gary) and a number of nieces and nephews all of Gainesville.

Wayne was a devoted husband and father known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He worked for Lester’s Body and Paint Shop for over 40 years until his retirement. Even in retirement years, Wayne was known for his strong work ethic and continued fixing cars as a hobby in Cleveland, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Dr. Tom Smiley will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the love and support of their friends, neighbors and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gainesville Humane Society, 845 West Ridge Rd. Gainesville, GA  30501, in honor of Wayne Lester’s deep love for animals.
