Gene Aaron

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Gene Aaron, age 64 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Monday, March 28, 2016.  Mr. Aaron was born in Commerce, Georgia, the son of the late William and Jeanette Nix Aaron, was retired from the University of Georgia and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Aaron is preceded by his wife, Elaine Ward Aaron.

Survivors include his daughter, Celena Chatham and her husband Dwayne of Talmo, sister; Jerrie Courson and her husband Rusty of Statham.  Niece, Amanda Hewell of Gillsville, friend and “sister” Elaine Ledford of Jefferson.  Long time girlfriend; Shelby Jean Cooper of Winder, extended family; The Faulkners, Barnetts and Page families.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 2, 2016 from the Calvary Baptist Church, Statham, Georgia with Reverend Ronnie Healan and Reverend David Garlick officiating with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Chip Aaron, Jason Thompson, Matthew Hewell, Rusty Courson, Shane Woody and Michael Jackson.  The family will receive friends 6 – 8 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2016 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saint Mary’s Hospice House, P.O. Box 6588, Athens, Georgia  30604.
