Mr. Oda R. “Reggie” Weaver, age 66, of Braselton passed away, following an extended illness, on Monday, March 28, 2016 at his residence.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Reggie was born on May 4, 1949 in Knoxville, Tennessee to his late parents, Oda & Frances Weaver. He graduated from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee with a degree in Biology and Tennessee Tech in Cookville, Tennessee with a degree in Fisheries Biology. In 1976, he accepted a position as a Fisheries Biologist for the Department of Natural Resources/Wildlife Resources for the Sate of Georgia, where he worked for more than 31 years, retiring in 2007.
Reggie was a great family man and a loving father. He married Sheri Crews in 1977 and the couple has two children together, Jason Weaver and Chase Weaver. Reggie loved the Lord and loved caring for the world that God has given us. He was deeply involved in wildlife management for the majority of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed anything outdoors. His family and friends will always remember him as a humble, gentle person.
Reggie was preceded in death by his parents, Oda Ernest and Frances Weaver.
Reggie is survived by his wife, Sheri Crews Weaver of Braselton; sons, Jason Weaver of Camdenton, Missouri and Chase Weaver of Braselton; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Luce Weaver; grandchildren, Dorian Weaver, Aleythia Weaver, and Anastasia Weaver all of Camdenton, Missouri; brother & sister-in-law, David & BeckyWeaver of Maryville, Tennessee; and nephews, Keith Weaver of Covington and Zak Weaver of Maryville, Tennessee.
