Rev. William M. (Bill) Upshaw age 87 of Dahlonega entered into heaven in March 25, 2016 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born in Tucker, Ga to James Upshaw and Ruth Carter Upshaw. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Sue Kuykendall Upshaw, his parents, a sister, Sue Walski, and his brother, James T. Upshaw.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane Cash and her husband Jimmy of Flowery Branch, and Patricia Landress and her husband, Ronald of Dahlonega, 3 grandchildren, Brian (Sujey) Cash, Gina (Jeff) Hood and William (Sandy) Landress, his sister, Joan Kennedy of Decatur, 6 great- grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan, and Austin Hood, Corey (Ali) Landress and Hannah and Emily Cash, Ashley Griggs and Justin Buice as well as 25 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was a kind and loving man who will be sorely missed.
Bill was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a former a pastor of Full Fellowship Baptist Church, which began with a few friends in his home in Dawsonville. The church eventually moved to Marble Hill, Ga.
Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel in Gainesville from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday March 27, 2016. Funeral will be held in the Chapel on March 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. and interment will be in Trinity Baptist Church on Thompson Road in Dawsonville. Flower are accepted, or donations to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville will be accepted.
