Horace Milledge Dooley

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Horace Milledge Dooley, age 85, of Jefferson, who passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Mr. Dooley was born in Oconee County Georgia, a son to the late Albert and Johnnie Mae Porter Dooley, was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service, and was retired after twenty three years of service as a Passport Clerk with the U.S. Post in Gainesville, Georgia.  Mr. Dooley was a lifelong member of the New Holland Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Pritchett Dooley of Jefferson; daughter, Bina Dooley Gobler and her husband Robert of lake Park, GA; sons, Victor Dooley of Crawford, Vincent Dooley of Jefferson; grandchildren, Stephanie Gobler, Kyle Gobler; brother, Bennie Dooley, Lake Oconee and sister, Jorinda Fleming of Bethlehem.

Graveside services will held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:30 AM with Reverend Bill Hayes officiating in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10-11am at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
