Betty Brown Johnson

Graveside services for Betty Brown Johnson, age 88, of Clarkesville will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 10:00 AM from the Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery with funeral services following at 11:00 AM from the  Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Pletsch and Rev. Tony Kemp will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 6-8 PM. 

Mrs. Johnson passed away March 21, 2016. 

Born in Jonesboro, Georgia on September 5, 1927, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late James G. and Verna Trammell Brown.  Mrs. Johnson was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and she was an artist, writer, and poet. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband Clifton E. Johnson. 

Survivors include daughter and son in law René and Mike Grant of Clarkesville, son and daughter in law Russell and Jo Ann Johnson of Statesboro, grandchildren Eric Johnson (Wendi), Amy Godbee (Wesley), Ryan Johnson (fiancée Cara Iannacone), Gretchen Grant, Georgia Pitts (Scott), Ashley Grant (Adam Eckhart), and Gabriel Grant (Amy), great grandchildren Emilee, Hayden, Jake, Sophie, Katie, Van, Anna, Davey, Caleb, Sadie, Jana, Addie, Hogan, Morgan, Huck, Darla, and Joni. 

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to: Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, Attn: Food 2 Kids of Habersham, 46 Plaza Way, Clayton, GA, 30525.
