Ms. Frances Ellen Copeland, age 73 of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully at Dogwood Forest in Gainesville on Friday, March 18, 2016 following a period of declining health.
Born in Gainesville, GA on June 18, 1942, she was the daughter of Ted Taft and Vera Sisk Copeland. She was a graduate from North Georgia College and obtained a master’s degree from Georgia State University and was retired from the Veterans Administration where she served as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. Frances was a member of the Republican Party and in years past, enjoyed mentoring students at Lumpkin County Middle School. She was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church.
Frances is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Clara Nell Copeland of Murrayville; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and J.L. Collins, of Dahlonega and sister, Cathryn Copeland of Dahlonega. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Vivian and Jeff Street, Frisco, Texas, Tim and Connie Copeland, Murrayville, Shannon and Lisa Collins, Supply, North Carolina, Mitchell and Becky Collins, Sevierville, Tennessee, Darren and Joan Copeland, Murrayville, Janssen and Becky Thompson, Lincoln Nebraska, Paige and Steve Ferrell of Dahlonega.
Other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Dahlonega Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 20th from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Dahlonega Funeral Home.
