Dorothy Carmen Manucy Chisholm

Graveside services for Dorothy Carmen Manucy Chisholm, age 89 of Clarkesville will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Veterans National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. 

Mrs. Chisholm passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving famly. 

Born in St. Augustine, Florida on January 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Marion Roberta Gervin Manucy.  She obtained her BA degree from Miami University and her MA from Eastern Kentucky University.  Mrs. Chisholm spent her entire career in education.  Starting in Elementary grades at Homosassa Elementary School in Florida and later was the librarian at Berea College in Kentucky.  She was a member of Saint Johns Episcopal Church and was past president of the Cloverleaf Womens Club.  In her spare time, Mrs. Chisholm enjoyed Reading, History, and Painting.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Hugh Chisholm. 

Survivors include daughters Deborah Chisholm Durno (Joe) of Mayo, Florida, Judith Tere Chisholm of Lake Worth, Florida, Janine Chisholm Dillon (Jay) of Grovetown, Georgia, Roberta Chisholm Ruce (Kevin) of Arlington, Virginia, and Allison Chisholm Anglin (John) of Clarkesville, Georgia, as well as five grandsons. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Augusta YMCA for the Kathryn M. York Adapted Aquatics Center.
