David Bahret

David Bahret, 68, of Milton, GA passed away on March 15, 2016 after a courageous long fought battle with cancer.  Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, David graduated from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School in 1965.  He later graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1969.  David honorably served in the United States Army from 1970-1973 while stationed in Ft. Dix, NJ.  He retired after working 24 years with Continental Insurance Company. 

David is survived by his loving wife Joan (Asaoka) of 43 years, sons Derek of Alpharetta, GA and Stephen of Decatur, GA, and his beloved dog Stanley.  He has 2 grandchildren, EmmaRae and Eli Bahret.  David is also survived by his loving mother Jean Doxsee Bahret of Poughkeepsie, NY, brothers Bruce Bahret (Margaret) of Sarasota, FL and John Bahret of Poughkeepsie, NY, sisters Jean Lynn and Nancy Bahret of Poughkeepsie, NY and Jane Mandia (John) of Highland, NY, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his father John H. Bahret.

Funeral services to be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11am followed by 2pm interment at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made on his behalf to Atlanta Humane Society, 1565 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009.
