Unie Olean Turner, age 85 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Turner was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Martha Abernathy. She was preceded in death by her sister Pauline Adams, brothers Sherman Abernathy, Bill Abernathy, Henry Abernathy, Otis Abernathy and James Abernathy. She was a member of Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Olean worked outside the home for many years, a wonderful homemaker, she prepared all kinds of food and made great cakes and pies. She canned food for the winter months. She was a great seamstress and quilter, she also crocheted afghans. Olean had lots of friends and extended family members who loved and adored her.
Olean married Jack Turner in 1949. Jack’s parents were Ollie and Mary Turner. Jack passed away February 2004. He was a saw miller and was loved by all. Jack adored Olean and was very proud of her.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Carol and Wiley Partin; Ronnie and Diane Turner; Randy and Phyllis Turner; Myra and Harry Anderson; grandchildren, Evette and Jackson Black; Clint and Shelly Partin; Levi Turner; James and April Turner; Chris and Marisa Turner; Daniel Turner; Justina Turner, Christina Turner; Chase Turner and Kieu-Oanh Nguyen; Cresta Turner and Gavin Calzaretta; Tasha and Heath Biggers; Tonya and Brent Fisher; great grandchildren, Cole Partin, Amiee Partin, Matthew Black, Rachel Anne Black, Hannah Black, Mackenzie Turner, Madison Turner, Trace Bigers, Lane Biggers, John Isaac Fisher, Isaiah Fisher, Anna Fisher, Israel Fisher; sister, Sarah Abernathy.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church. The Rev. Paul Flynn, Rev. Marc Turner and the Rev. Gary Heffner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 Friday at the funeral home.
