Martha S. Combs

Ms. Martha S. Combs, age 81, of Flowery Branch passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by family.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment at 2:00 p.m. at Polk Memory Gardens in Cedartown, Georgia.  Rev. Ben Coggins will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Ms. Combs was born April 5, 1934 to the late Ira Mashburn Shelnutt and Beulah Myers Martin in Atlanta and was a member of Flowery Branch Church of God.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Christian and brothers, Joe Shelnutt, Don Shelnutt, Frank Shelnutt and Doug Shelnutt.

Ms. Combs is survived by her children, James R. & Ashley Combs of Greenville, South Carolina, Leslie Bowman of McCaysville, Georgia, David & Amy Combs of Flowery Branch and Steve & Victoria Combs of Clarkesville; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane Dennison and Patricia Pennington both of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and several nieces & nephews.
