Ralph Benson Truelove, age 93, of Murrayville, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 13, 2016.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Wahoo Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reverends Vernon London, Stephen Adams, Les Fuller and Lance Fuller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 5 to 8 pm Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.
Mr. Truelove was born August 18, 1922, to the late Adcus and Maud (Gilstrap) Truelove. He married Lillian Abercrombie, November 7, 1942 and they were married for 67 years, until her death in 2009. Mr. Truelove was a retired chicken and dairy farmer. He was a member of Wahoo Baptist Church where he was the choir director and assistant Sunday School teacher for many years. He loved southern gospel music, and worked to preserve and promote both old and new hymns. He republished the Spiritual Hymns song book and distributed thousands of books to churches in the surrounding counties. He played several instruments, loved to sing and wrote several songs. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lillian; son, Larry Douglas; brothers and sister-in-law, Hoyt and Faye, Elmer and Tommie; and brother, Oscar; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kay and Margie Abercrombie.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Truelove; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Jeff Jones; grandson, Brandon Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Grace Truelove; sister-in-law, Lizzie Truelove and several nieces and nephews also survive.
