Mr. Bobby Lee Hayes, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his home in Clermont, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Hayes was born June 7, 1936 in Jackson County to the late Edward Stokes Hayes and Latrella Lee Hayes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Mildred & Stanley Martin and nephew Brannon Hayes.
Bobby served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1965. He was employed by Potter and Brumfield and co-owner of Abercrombie and Hayes Chevron Station for over 20 years. After retirement, he worked as a security guard for numerous places as well as at a courier service. He most enjoyed making deliveries for North Georgia Poultry Supply.
Survivors include his sister Kathy Hayes, Clermont; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Joe Dyer, Gainesville; brother and sister?in?law Gene and Bobbie Hayes, Clermont; daughters Kim Bregante and Kelly Delong; grandchildren Kristin House, Tyler House, Carly Delong, Casey Delong; great-grandchildren Levi House, Taylor and Tucker Parris; nephews Ricky Hayes, Brian Hayes, Gary Dyer, Mike Dyer, Kevin Dyer, David Martin; niece Amy Allison.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Strickland Funeral Home, 260 Main Street Clermont, GA 30527. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Strickland Funeral Home with interment at Wahoo Baptist Church immediately following the service. The Reverend Guy Lee, Reverend David Martin and Reverend Brannon Dyer will officiate.
