Mrs. Ovalene Kesler Hardman passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.
She was born July 9, 1928 in Banks County, the daughter of the late James Nathan and Leo Gulley Kesler. She lived most of her life in Stephens County and was Salutatorian of her 1944 Stephens County High School graduating class. She was employed by WABCO for 30 years and also employed by the Stephens County School System Nutrition Department for 10 years. After retirement, she worked part-time at Leatherwood Fish Lodge. She was a lifelong member of Prospect United Methodist Church where she served as Church Treasurer for 28 years, member of the Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, Building Committee, United Methodist Women and the Adult Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hill Chapter, #417.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ted Hardman in 2000 and by four brothers, Edward Kesler, Alvin Kesler, Carroll Kesler and Dwayne Kesler.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Wanda Hardman of Toccoa; granddaughter, Stephanie Ware and her husband, Clay of Jefferson and two great-grandchildren, Sydney Kate Ware and Blake Alan Ware of Jefferson; sisters-in-law, Virginia Kesler, Rose Kesler and Sarah Kesler all of Toccoa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J.R. and Fay Hardman of Toccoa and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 4, 2016, 2 O’clock PM at Prospect United Methodist Church with The Reverend Dennis Wilkes and The Reverend Jason Ratliff officiating.
The family will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, 7401 Mize Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Online condolences can be made by visiting the website at www.acree-davisfh.com.
The following nephews will serve as pallbearers, James Andrews, John L. Collins, Jr., Donald Grizzle, Richard Howell, Andrew Kesler and Mark Kesler.
Interment will follow in the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Ovalene Kesler Hardman.
