Lynn T. Moore

Lynn T. Moore, age 85, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016.

Mr. Moore was born August 17, 1930 in Young Harris, GA to the late John Ferry and Lillie Esther Tatham Moore. He was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Moore was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service with over 24 years of dedicated service. He designed over 300 farm ponds in this area. Mr. Moore was also preceded in death by his wife, Sue Whitfield Moore; and sister, Frances Tanner.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Kelly Murphy of Homer, Angela and Roger Blair of Mt. Airy, Mary and Chris McNairy of Athens, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Angie Moore of Cornelia; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Travis Perry of Mt. Airy; brother-in-law, Gerald Tanner of Douglas, GA; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Georgia National Guard, Grant-Reeves VFW Post 7720, Habersham County American Legion Post 84, and Rabun DAV Chapter 15.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Saturday, February 27, 2016.
