Mr. Bobby L. Wiley, age 83, a lifelong resident of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Calhoun, Georgia.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.
Mr. Wiley was born October 11, 1932 in Gainesville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Wiley and Daisy Hudgins Wiley. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Quality Decorating Center for many years. Mr. Wiley enjoyed making others laugh as evidenced through his “Sunshine Reports” at both the Rotary Club and the Anglers’ Sunday school class. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club. As a lifelong member of First Baptist Church he served as a deacon. He was a member of the Gideons International. Mr. Wiley loved young people and sports. He was a long time coach at the Boys and Girls Club in Hall County and also Gainesville Park and Recreation department. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife of 54 years, Jettie Lee Whitmire Wiley.
Mr. Wiley is survived by his son, Doug Wiley of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Leigh Wiley of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve King of Calhoun; grandchildren, James, Elizabeth and Catherine Wiley; Robert, William and Jack Wiley and Ben and Emma King; sisters-in-law, Janet Wiley, Millie Watson, Betty Bruce, and Jackie Freeman, and a number of other friends, family, nieces and nephews also survive.
