Dorothy (Dotty) Lee Varano 81, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully at home on Monday February 22nd, 2016 after a short illness.
She leaves her daughters Catherine Conklin Gros of Warwick, NY, Carol Conklin Welin of Cumming GA and Connie Varano Palazzo of Cumming, GA and their husbands. As well as her grandchildren, Kendra and Cameron Gros, Jenna and Aubrey Palazzo, and Ean Welin.
Dotty was preceded in death by her spouse, Gerald Varano in 1982, her son, Chris Conklin, in 1991 at age 30, and her grandson Kyle Palazzo in 2009 at age 20.
Born May 27th 1934 in Goshen NY, Dorothy Van Duzer grew up in Sugar Loaf, NY. She was especially fond of her horse Queenie and later her dog Daisy. Most important to her was being one of Jehovah's Witnesses and being a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She worked as a school bus driver and monitor in Warwick Valley, NY and Forsyth Co, GA for 18 years. A lover of poetry, she had written over 200 poems. Dotty was known for her love of spiritual things, her upbeat personality and sense of humor. She will be dearly missed.
Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1505 Dr. Bramblett Road, Cumming, GA on Sunday February 28th at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the worldwide preaching work of Jehovah's Witnesses (www.jw.org).
