Joan Underwood Cody

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Joan Underwood Cody, age 68, of Jefferson Georgia, who entered into rest Tuesday, February 23, 2016.  Mrs. Cody was born in Pendergrass, Georgia a daughter of the late Tommy and Stella Culpepper Underwood, and was a talented Beautician in the Jefferson area for thirty years.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Cody is preceded by a son, Greg Beck, a sister; Blanche Kinney and brothers; Jimmy and Johnny Underwood.

Survivors include her husband, John Cody of Jefferson, daughter; Dawn Cody of Jefferson, son; Scott Cody and Seth of Sugar Hill, brothers; Harry, Thomas and Charles Underwood of Pendergrass, sister and closest friend; Shirley Underwood Channell of Jefferson, brother in law; Clelle Kinney of Pendergrass.  Grandsons, Trey and Trent Beck and daughter in law Christy Beck of Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 26, 2016 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Strickland officiating with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Harry, Thomas and Charles Underwood, Clelle Kinney, Trey and Trent Beck.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 25, 2016, 6 – 8 P.M. .
