Edna Stella Parks Wehunt

            Mrs. Edna Stella Parks Wehunt, age 82 of Gainesville, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Phillip Wehunt, Reverend Shane Wehunt, Reverend Tim Bennett and Reverend Ricky Thrasher will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 and Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Wehunt was born April 4, 1933 in Dawsonville, Georgia to the late Oscar Parks and Pearl Stokes Parks.  She was retired from Warren Featherbone and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.  Edna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hobert Lee Wehunt. 

            Mrs. Wehunt is survived by her children, Elaine Eaton of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Dennis Wehunt of Talking Rock, Georgia and William & Kim Wehunt of Gainesville, grandchildren, Melissa Moore, Bacardy Wehunt, Malachi & Jessica Wehunt, Will & Laura Wehunt and Tony & Ashley Roberts, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister & brother-in-law, Lavone & Ronald Wilkins of Norfolk, Virginia and brother, Royce Parks of Atlanta, Georgia.
