Ms. Lula Belle Morris, age 84, of Gainesville, GA died Monday, February 22, 2016 at Morningside Assisted Living. Ms. Morris was born in Maysville to the late William Bealor (W.B.) and Jesse Sophronia Brewer Morris. She lived most of her life in Banks County, but for the past three years had lived at Morningside Assisted Living, Gainesville, GA. Ms. Morris was a member of Hickory Flat Methodist Church but for the past many years had attended Antioch Holiness Church. They graciously made her a part of their loving family and the love shown by many visits. Lula Belle retired from the Hall County Government, as the clerk of Probate Court, with 38 years of service. In addition to her parents, Ms. Morris was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Potts Crow Turner; brothers, Travis Morris, Jack Morris and Cleal Morris; niece, Miriam Benton; and nephews, Rev. W.S. Morris and Cecil Potts.
Ms. Morris is survived by her nieces and nephews, Carolyn White of Gainesville, Branson (Shirley) Morris of Gillsville, Jackie (Marie) Morris of Bellmont, NC, Joey Morris of Blacksburg, SC, Janice (Wayne) Lanier of Gastonia, NC and Cathy (Grady) Staton of Lula, GA.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Friday, February 26 at Antioch Holiness Church with Rev. Jacob Armour and Brother Graylen Armour officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to your church, Gideons or favorite charity in memory of Lula Belle.
The family would like to express their appreciation for all the love and kindness shown to Lula Belle by all the staff at Morningside Assisted Living. Also, to Dr. Tran, Dr. Toosi and Homestead Hospice for their care and concern during her last days that were so critical. Special thanks to Margaret and Roger Younce, Jack, Caroline and Griffin Keener for the many acts of kindness and love toward Lula Belle.
