Fannie Lee Grindle, age 85, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday February 21, 2016.
Mrs. Grindle was born in Lumpkin County, the daughter of the late Robert Leo and Dollie Mary Ann Bowman Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Grindle, daughter, Sandra Haley, sister, Bertha Sullens, brothers, George Blackwell, Claude Blackwell, Carl Blackwell and Robert Blackwell. Mrs. Grindle was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.
Mrs. Grindle was married for 48 years and raised two wonderful girls. Her favorite memories were seeing her grandchildren grow up and how they became responsible moral adults. She was proud of both of them. Mrs. Grindle always said God was first and family was next in her life. She enjoyed being on the internet, reading a lot, and loved Gospel Music.
Survivors include daughter and son in law, Judy and Lynn Shook, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Josh and Kristy Dickens, Douglasville, Amanda Haley, Austell; great grandchildren, Katie Dickens, Emma Dickens, Douglasville; sister, Leona Anderson, Dahlonega; special friends, Joey and Debbie Jones, Glenn and Margaret Dorsey; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Damascus Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Spruill and Rev. Phillip Robinson will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
