Ruby Ione Allen Reid

Mrs . Ruby Ione Allen Reid , age 87 of Cleveland. Mrs. Reid passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Monday, February 22, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ross Wheeler and Rev. Mike Borchet officiating, interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Reid was born in White County on July 1,1928 to the late George Edwin Allen and Nellie Mae Sims Allen. She was graduated Piedmont College with a BS Degree in Education. After graduation, Mrs. Reid began her career with the White County School System, where she would retire with 32 years of dedicated service. She had a special bond with her students, many of whom she stayed in contact with through the years, Mrs. Reid was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the choir, teaching Sunday School and serving on various committees over the years. She leaves of legacy which includes working hard, loving God and family being loyal to those whom she cherished. This was made clear as she penned her thoughts “ I don’t have just a close friend, I have many close friends ( for which I am very thankful). For what they have done for me I can never repay them. My friends are my life”

In addition to her parents. Mrs. Reid is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Albert Reid, sister, Inez Allen, daughter in law, Sheryl Reid and brother Lovic Allen. Survivors include her sons, Walter Reid (Brinda) of Cleveland, and Wayne Reid of Barryville, Arkansas; brother, Rev. Hoyt Allen( Martha) of Cleveland; sisters Jessie Cannon of Cleveland and Evelyn Jones ( Ray) of Chestnut Mtn; grandchildren, BreAnna Wheeler ( Rev. Ross wheeler), Benjamin Reid, Alan Reid and Zadee Reid; great grandchildren, Adrienne (Addy) Wheeler, Kathryn Wheeler, Byron Wheeler, Kaiden Reid and Brylin Nelms.
