Douglas Reginald Ash

Mr. Douglas Reginald Ash, age 72, of Gainesville, GA passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016.

He was a lifelong resident of Hall County and a member of Airline Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Purple Heart recipient.

Mr. Ash was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert B. and Vivian White Ash; son, Dr. Keith Ash; and sister, Elaine Ash.

He is survived by his grandson, Garrett Ash, Commerce, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Gale and Ricky Whitmire, Gainesville, GA; niece, Laurie Nix, Lula, GA; nephews, Stephen Dorsey, Winder, GA; and Bryan Whitmire, Gainesville, GA; special friend and caretaker, Josie Kelley, Dawsonville, GA; daughter-in-law, Lindsay Ash, Commerce, GA; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
