Edward Banister Gurley

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Edward Banister Gurley, age 67 of Elberton, Georgia, formerly of Jefferson who entered into rest Saturday, February 13, 2016.  Mr. Gurley was born in Baxley, Georgia a son of the late Paul Banister Gurley and the late Annie Shipes Gurley, was retired from Buhler Yarns and was of the Baptist Faith.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gurley is preceded by a sister; Betty Ann Gurley and a brother; Paul Eugene Gurley.

Survivors include two sisters; Mary Canup and Johnnie Mae Gurley of Elberton, brother; Billy Gurley and his wife Annie of Jefferson.  Four nieces and one nephew also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Hardy officiating with burial to follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Bo Shipes, Scott Hardy, Caleb Hardy, Cameron Hardy, Cole Morgan, and David Howard.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, February 15, 2016, 6 – 8 P.M..  Flowers are optional with memorials being made to the Charity of One’s Choice in memory of Mr. Edward Banister Gurley.
