Marie W. Harris

Mrs. Marie W. Harris, age 78, of Gillsville died Friday, February 12, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Harris was born in Gainesville to Azzie Lee Wilson Buffington of Gillsville and the late, Decatur Wilson Buffington. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker, a member of Gillsville Baptist Church, and a member of Eastern Star. In addition to her father, Mrs. Harris was also preceded in death by her sister, Myra Johnson.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, William Obee Harris of Gillsville; daughters, Amy Sheppard (Michael) of Maysville and Rhonda Martin (Todd) of Gillsville; son, Andy Harris (Kim) of Baldwin; grandchildren, Nicholas Harris (Leah), Andrea Harris, Kalen Carlyle (Joseph), Peyton Martin, Tiffany Sheppard, and Jennifer Sheppard; great grandchildren, Addisen and Aubrey Carlyle; sisters, Marvene Boyd of Gillsville, Joan Sargent of Gillsville, Joyce Vetrano of Lula, Jimmie Lou Wallace of Gillsville, Martha Kenimer of Gillsville, Phyliss Poole of Gainesville, and Gail Jones of Gainesville.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2:00 PM from Gillsville Baptist Church with Rev. Tim House and Rev. Shannon Rhodes officiating with the interment following in the Gillsville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2:30-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM.
