Allen Nicely

Allen Nicely, age 74 of Cornelia, departed this life on February 5, 2016.

Mr. Nicely was born January 27, 1942 in Hayesville, NC to the late William and Estella Moore Nicely. He retired from TenCate in November of 2012, where he had 30 plus years of service. Mr. Nicely was an active member of the High Rock Masonic Lodge #683, where he joined in 1968, until it dissolved.

Allen joined Fort Hembree Baptist Church of Hayesville, NC at a very young age. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1978 at the Bean Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He moved his membership back to his home church where he served faithfully as the Chairman of the Deacon Board.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Naomie Nicely of the home; daughter, Tina Nicely of Sautee; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan & Michelle Nicely of Cleveland; step-daughter, Anita Duncan of Baldwin; six grandchildren, Brison Gains, Nafee’sha Corona, Omiknee Nicely, Xaiden Nicely, Leeheina Artis, and Lamont Artis; sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Joe Dorsey of Hayesville, NC; three step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; nephew, Kent Dorsey of Hayesville, NC; niece, Lisa Carter of Hayesville, NC; great niece, LaShea Carter of Atlanta; uncle, Warren Nicely of Kingston, TN; two Goddaughters, Kendra Bright, whom he gave away in marriage to Rev. Ricky J. Bright, and Makeara Nicely.

Funeral services are 2 pm Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart

with Pastor Javan Harper officiating.  Interment will follow in Bean Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home.
