Max O’Neil Watson Jr. of Auburn, GA, age 61, died Feb. 9, 2015 after a brief struggle with cancer.
Born May 2, 1954, in Shelby, NC, to Max Watson Sr. and Amy Wilson Watson, the oldest of 4 children, he graduated as valedictorian of his South Hall High School class of 1972. He later graduated with a degree in Finance from the University of Georgia in 1976, after which he worked for Continental Insurance Company for many years.
Max loved music and was a composer in his own right. He learned to play piano by ear at an early age and later played drums and guitar.
He is predeceased by his father, Max Watson, Sr. of Gainesville and uncle, Frank Watson.
He is survived by his mother, Amy; brother, Lindsey (Denise); sisters, Hope Hulsey (Randall), and Mimi Cundiff (Richard); uncle and aunt, Rex and Gwen Watson; aunt, Betty Watson; several nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. Randall Hulsey will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.
