Memorial services for Homer Lee Howard, age 84, of Clarkesville will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Clarkesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Butler officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
Mr. Howard passed away February 6, 2016 at Emory University Hospital - Midtown.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 2, 1931, Mr. Howard was the son of the late Homer H. and Francis Johnson Howard. Mr. Howard was a United States Navy Veteran and he was a Mechanical Engineer and CAD Designer with Scientific Atlanta. He was a member of Clarkesville United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Howard is preceded in death by his wife Betty Grizzle Howard.
Survivors include daughter Miriam Thompson of Duluth, Edie Jeffas (Peter) of Scottsville, Kentucky, and Alice Meaders (Dimmy) of Loganville, son Paul Howard of Suwanee, brother Kenneth Howard of Oviedo, Florida, and grandchildren Casey Thompson and Corey Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lena McGahee, 170 Thomas Street, Cornelia, GA 30531.
