Mrs. Addis C. Purcell, 95 of Gainesville died Friday February 5, 2016 at a private nursing home following an extended illness.
Born in Jackson County, February 2, 1921, Mrs. Purcell was the daughter of the late Samuel Alvin and Leve A. Manus Clark. She had worked for New Holland Mill and Leece-Neville Company. Mrs. Purcell was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church #2.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Purcell Farmer, Gainesville; son-in-law, Terry Gaddy, Gainesville; grandchildren, Layne and Karen Acrey; Brian and Cindy Farmer; Sheri and Tim Goss; Scott and Cindy Gaddy; Jerime and Robbie Bell; 12 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Purcell is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester W. Purcell, and daughter, Janice Gaddy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 7, 2016 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Milton Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday Feb. 6, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
