Mary L. Thomas Barlowe

Mary L. Thomas Barlowe age 86 of Gainesville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at The Oaks nursing home following an extended illness.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at Rock Hill Church. The Reverends Lewis Lord and Vern Coolidge will officiate. The body will lie-in-state from 1:00 p..m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ward's Funeral Home Wednesday February 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Barlowe was born in Hall County to the late Luther H. and Mary Fields Thomas. She was a long-time member of Bible Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA, and retired from Treasures for Your Home. She was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters: J. W. Thomas, Amion Thomas, Tony Thomas, Barbara Ansley, and Charles Thomas.

Mrs. Barlowe is survived by Clifford Barlowe (husband), Frieda Browning (daughter) and husband Rick, Roland Barlowe (son) and wife Debbie, Sandra Brown (daughter) and husband David. She also is survived by 6 grandchildren: Zach Barlowe, Rachel Browning Siglin, Katie Barlowe Gresham, Daniel Browning, Mary Beth Browning Rhyne, and Nicholas Brown. She was also blessed with 5 great-grandchildren.
