Obituary Date: Friday, January 29, 2016
Beatrice Long Stowers of Clermont, Georgia passed away January 29, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center of an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow at Christian Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Clermont. The Reverend Jimmy Ellis and Reverend Mike Stowers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 pm Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the funeral home.
Lovingly called BB by all that knew her, she was born the ninth of twelve children to Henry Long and Floy Perdue on October 22, 1927. Being part of a large farming family taught her at an early age the value of hard work.  She loved to tell stories of her days growing up and working on the farm alongside her siblings and her cherished Papa. One of her favorite stories to share was of helping her Papa break in the new teams of mules to plow the fields for planting.
BB continued farming into adulthood, teaching her own children and grandchildren the same values on her chicken farm in Clermont. Running three full chicken houses on her own, her dedication and drive was nothing short of admirable. Later in life, she retired from chicken farming and enjoyed delivering flowers from Alene's Flower Cottage all over Gainesville and making new friends at every stop.
BB was very active in her church, Christian Hill Baptist, as well as in her community.  She also helped to care for her older brothers and sisters as they progressed into their later years of life.
She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, devoted Christian, dedicated worker, and a heck of a good cook.
BB leaves behind a son, Danny Stowers of Clermont; daughter and son in law, Angela and Ken Cronan of Demorest; Grandchildren, Kevin (Amy) Stowers of Clermont, Kari (Nathan) Duckworth of Clermont, Kacy (Mandy) Cronan of Clermont, and Kelsey (Jacob) McGuire of Cleveland, GA.  Great grandchildren, Ansley, Reagan, Ty, BreAnna, Owen, Chayse, Drew, Reese, Faylynn, Tinsley-Grace, and Faith. She is also survived by one sister, Matilyn Singleton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
