Joe Davis Deadwyler

Obituary Date: Monday, January 25, 2016

Joe Davis Deadwyler, 85, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, died on January 25, 2016 at his home in Cumming, Georgia. He was a resident of Sandy Springs, Georgia for over 50 years prior to moving to Cumming last October.

Joe was a member of Northwest Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. He graduated from Druid Hills High School and The Georgia Institute of Technology, and served in the United States Marine Corps. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jane Foster, in 1953 and worked for C & S Bank (merging with Nations Bank) until he retired in 1993. He loved his family and enjoyed vegetable gardening and reading.

He is survived by his wife Betty Jane;  daughter Peggy Hampton and her husband Rudy of Cumming, son Steve and his wife Mary of Alpharetta, Georgia;  grandchildren Maddie Deadwyler;  Tom Schulte and his wife Sarah, children Tori, Zack and Josh; David Schulte; James Schulte and his wife Kelsey; Eric Hampton and his wife Rachel, children Claire, Cate and Caroline; Matt Hampton and his wife Jenn, children Ander and Cayson.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, Georgia, on Thursday morning, January 28, 2016 at 11:00.

Memorial donations may be made to either: Community Assistance Center, 1130 Hightower Trail, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30350 or Northwest Presbyterian Church, 4300 Northside Drive, NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30327
