Mr. Francis Benjamin (Benny) Cape, age 86, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Reverend Maxey Ladd will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Benny, a lifetime resident of Hall County, was born May 11, 1929. He was the son of the late Colie C. Cape and Cordellia (Cagle) Cape. Following his graduation from Sardis High School he served in the National Guard Reserve. He retired from Gayborn Mills as plant manager. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Gainesville Masonic Lodge # 219 and a member of the Gainesville Elks Club.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera Jones Cape; brother, Colie (Bud) Cape; sisters, Burnell (Billie) Halford, Nancy Geraldine (Jimmie) Dale, Bannie (Betty) Dale, Lela Peck, Mary Lois Ladd.
He is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
