Mr. Donald “Duck” Wilburn Martin, age 85 of Poplar Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.
A son of the late Wilburn and Willie Mae Fuller Martin, he was born April 20, 1930 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was a 1949 Toccoa High School Graduate, star running back for the Purple Hurricanes. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Korean War. He was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church, a Deacon of the Church, a member of the Couples for Christ SS Class and Head Usher of the church for many years.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Pauline Davis Martin; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Sherrill Martin of Hoschton, Georgia and Roger and Michele Martin of Cumming, Georgia; grandchildren, Shannon Martin, Shane and Ashley Martin, Davis Martin and Will Martin; two great-grandchildren, Liam Lloyd and Megan Martin; sister, Ruby Nell Bolmon of Toccoa; number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 24, 2016, 3:30 PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Paul Garrison and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.
The family will be at the home on Poplar Street and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:30 PM until the service time.
The following will serve as pallbearers, Shane Martin, Davis Martin, Shannon Martin, Jeremy Means, Nick Lloyd and Bill Davis.
Interment will be in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Donald “Duck” Wilburn Martin.
