Suzanne (Suzie) Donehoo Stewart

Obituary Date: Thursday, January 21, 2016

Suzanne (Suzie) Donehoo Stewart passed away on January 21, 2016.  She is survived by husband Richard Stewart; daughter Gretchen Stewart; daughter Jan Swanton, son-in-law Tom and granddaughters Hannah and Carly; sister Jane Donehoo Wilmot and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents Pat Donehoo and Kate Weatherford Donehoo and Sister Sandra Donehoo Bowman. The family extends a special thank you for the love and support of her caregiver Sarah Elaigwu.

 

A native of Roswell, she taught orchestra for Fulton County BOE for over 30 years.  She was the organizing teacher of the Clarke County GA string program and Lexington, KY Talent Education and taught at Nazareth College.  She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and studied Suzuki method at the University of Louisville.  She enjoyed performing with many church ensembles and also shared her love of music by teaching many private students throughout the years.

 

Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m.  Private family interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Music Ministry or Roswell High School Music Association.
