Everette Massey Milford

Everette Massey Milford, age 97, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Northridge Health and Rehab.  Born May 10, 1918, in Banks County, GA, Everette was the daughter of the late William Nathaniel Curt Massey and Hattie Short Massey.  Through the years she was a beautician, custom made draperies, built furniture, made and taught ceramic classes, did arts and crafts, hosted an annual Christmas Bazaar, and painted furniture.  These were only a few of her many creative talents.  She retired from her drapery business, after 27 years.  She organized the Lost Art Club in 1986, which is still active today; became a member of Harmony Grove Garden Club in 1956; was a member of the First Baptist Church Jolly Agers; and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for 85 years.

Mrs. Milford was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Ernest Milford; their son, Jimmy Milford; son-in-law, Ken West; sisters, Murwyn Moody, Ebbie Hill and Janell Chandler; brothers, Cody Massey and Shelby Massey; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Massey, Louise Massey and Betty Massey; and brothers-in-law, Dan Chandler, Art Moody and Leonard Hill.

Mrs. Milford is survived by her daughter, Julie Milford West; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jon Milford and Barbara; daughter-in-law, Beverly Milford George, and son-in-law, Dr. Lawrence George, all of Commerce; granddaughter, Suzanne Milford; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Tracy and Marion Milford, Shane and Gina West, Kasey and Tina West, Jonathan and Lauren Milford; great-grandsons, Blake Milford, Hix Milford, Fischer West, Forrest West, and Rivers West; great-granddaughters, Graci West, Connor Milford, Tiffany Pendley and Alex DeHass; and great-great-granddaughters, Adyson Pendley and Hannah DeHass.  She is also survived by her brother, Frank Norman Massey of Goode, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 22 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Road, Commerce, GA with Dr. Carlton Allen and Pastor Blake Carter officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Little-Ward Funeral Home Thursday night from 5-8 PM.
