Minnie Grace “Mama Deal” Hosea Deal

  Mrs. Minnie Grace “Mama Deal” Hosea Deal, age 96 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.

            A home going celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.  The body will lie in state at the church from 1 pm - 2 pm, prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Darryl Womack, Reverend Terry Rice and Reverend Robby Williams will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 2 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Deal was born April 27, 1919 in Toccoa, Georgia to the late Enoch Moses “Pode” Hosea and Myrtle Palmira Davis Hosea.  She was retired from Warren Featherbone and a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.  Mama Deal was the last surviving of 15 siblings.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence William Deal, her son, Jerry Lee Deal, her granddaughters, Andrea Kinsey and Karen Terrell and her sons-in-law, Reverend Don Pruitt and Floyd Garrett.

            Mrs. Deal is survived by her children, Alice Pruitt of Gainesville, Carolyn Garrett of Alto and Carolis Deal of San Francisco, California, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
