Mrs. Maxine Ralston, age 79, of Dahlonega, passed away Saturday January 16, 2016 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of Dawson and Lumpkin Counties, she was a homemaker who was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and member of Siloam Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ervin McKinley and Ruby Augusta Whitey Long, husband, J. D. Ralston, son John Dudley Ralston, brother C. J. Long, and twin sisters Kate and Carol Long.
She is survived by daughters Nancy (Jimmy) Hood, Dahlonega; Patsy (Bobby) Holland, Gainesville; Debbie (James) Berry, Gainesville; Betsy (Jimmy) Mills, Jenkinsburg, son Jay “Tony” (Crystal) Ralston, Dahlonega, and daughter-in-law Robin Ralston, Dahlonega. Also surviving are grandchildren Brian Hood, Jasper Berry, Amy (J. L.) Starks, April (Casey) Trammell, Michelle (Wayne) McKinney, John (Stacey) Ralston, great-grandchildren Juliet Banks, Summer Ralston, Elaina Jett, Luke, Caleb, and Ella McKinney, Kaylee Grace and Emily Trammell, nieces and nephews Rhonda, Renee, Jeffrey and Johnny Mealor, and special sister-in-law Martha Taylor.
Funeral services for Maxine are schedule for 2 PM Tuesday January 19, 2016 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, Georgia. The Reverend J.R. Fields, Reverend Wayne McKinney, and Brother Blake Grizzle will officiate. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Dawsonville, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home Dahlonega, Georgia Monday January 18, 2016 from 5–9 PM and again Tuesday January 19, 2016 until time of service.
